Yeah I know the infrastructure plays a big part when it comes to latency but what I'm curious is on the part of PLDT (their process). I have an ongoing request to upgrade my current plan of 1299 (768kbps) to plan 1995 (2mbps). I'm just curious if on their end they're going to transfer my line into a more responsive switch or cabinet (or whatever you call it)? Or upgrading the speed is just a matter of configuring on the software side (profile ba tawag doon? again it's just an assumption because I hear of the term customer profile in one of the techs that came into my house. I assume that when they say profile, it's on the software side wherein most likely they bring up the user's record and adjust the speed by simply typing and applying the correct numbers).
Oh and also if we're going to reverse it, was there an instance that a subscriber upgraded his bandwidth but his latency got worse?
Any forum members who knows (or any idea/opinion) the INS and OUTS of PLDT's process when it comes to upgrading their subs' bandwidth?
i dont think it'll improve... it might kasi babaguhin ang profile mo, and hopefully mapunta ka sa port na may magandang route... latency can have an effect on your capacity (bandwidth), too high and you wont reach your subscribed bandwidth.. but increasing the capacity wont bring the latency down...
isipin na lang natin na kotse ang latency...
highway ang capacity...
10 ferraris on a 2 lanes highway VS
10 toyota corollas on a 4 lanes highway
...10km stretch
sinu ang makakarating ng faster sa destination?
